Sedelkov, Willingham and Hagler top the Battle of the Bikes Showdown
Next Showdown at Gateway Motorsports Park is this Wednesday.
Madison, Illinois – Gateway Motorsports Park debuted its newest racing program, Battle of the Bikes Showdown, on May 15 as part of the Wide-Open Wednesday Series. The one run program concludes the evening’s racing event with awards presented to the driver posting the fastest speed, the lowest elapsed time and the best reaction time.
Damon Willingham of Cahokia, Illinois posted a top speed of 143.67 miles per hour on his 2006 Suzuki over Dimity Sedelkov who narrowly missed the top speed with a run of 143.64 miles per hour. However, Sedelkov’s 2006 Kawaski posted an elapsed time of 9.808 seconds to earn quick time honors for the Ballwin, Missouri rider over Willingham’s 10.088.
Jonah Hagler of St. Louis posted the best reaction time, a .414, to earn the top reaction honors on his 2008 Hyabusa.
The next Battle of the Bikes will be contested on Wednesday, May 22 at Wide-Open Wednesday. 165 racers, including more than 30 motorcycles, competed in the May 15 program which features testing, grudge races and special features. Each event concludes with the top motorcycle riders in the St. Louis metro area facing off in the three competition categories.
Gates open for the Wednesday, May 22 Wide Open Wednesday featuring the Battle of the Bikes Showdown at 5 p.m. with racing scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Race entry is $25, restricted area crew passes are $15 and spectator admission is only $10 which includes pit side parking.
