May 17, 2017 – Ronnie Beach III of Troy, Illinois (pictured here on May 10) again won the final round of High School eliminations Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Illinois. Beach, driving a 1969 GTO, defeated Steven Dugopolski of Hazelwood, Missouri, 11.878 sec. (on a 12.00 dial-in with a .052 reaction time) at 100.20 mph to 18.311 sec. (on a 18.45 dial-in with a .073 reaction time) at 74.60 mph.

Competition in the High School class was considerable as 18 drivers were entered in the competition, necessitating five rounds of eliminations.
