Australian-Born Richie Crampton Visits Playoff Host Market St. Louis on Six-Market Media Tour for
2015 NHRA Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship

September 14, 2015 – St. Louis Region — Australian-born, Top Fuel driver Richie Crampton will be in St. Louis on Wednesday, September 16 as part of a six-market media  tour to promote the 2015 NHRA Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship Drag Racing Series. Gateway Motorsports Park is the host site of round two of the NHRA Mello Yello Countdown with the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals, Sept. 25-27, 2015.

 

Top Fuel drivers Crampton, Brittany Force and J.R. Todd, along with Funny Car drivers Jack Beckman, John Force and Cruz Pedregon are the world championship contenders who will be featured in NHRA’s first Countdown Kickoff Media Tour in each of the six markets that will host a round of the playoffs.  Crampton, the third seed in Top Fuel based on four season victories at the controls of his 10,000-horsepower Lucas Oil dragster.

 

Each of the drivers above will participate in media interviews with television, newspaper and radio stations, pose for photo opportunities at the racetrack as well as at local landmarks and participate in a variety of social media events, among other activities.

 

The Countdown to the Championship makes stops in Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 18-20, St. Louis, Sept. 25-27, Reading, Pa., Oct. 1-4, Dallas, Oct. 15-18, Las Vegas, Oct. 29-Nov. 1, and concludes in Pomona, Calif., Nov. 12-15.  The AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals in St. Louis is the 20th of 24 events during the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season and second round of the Countdown to the Championship playoffs.

 

One-on-one interview opportunities will be available with NHRA driver Richie Crampton: 

 

Crampton is the driver of the Lucas Oil Top Fuel dragster for Morgan Lucas Racing. The Adelaide, Australia, native is in his second season at the controls of the 10,000-horsepower nitro-burning dragster. Crampton has four victories so far this season and currently sits third in points. Last season, Crampton earned the Automobile Club of Southern California Road to the Future Award as well as RACER Magazine’s Rookie of the Year Award by racing to victory at Englishtown and Indianapolis. Crampton has six career victories.
