Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Illinois, will host the inaugural Hops & Hot Rods beerfest on Saturday, October 21, from noon to 5 p.m., during the $20-per-carload NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event.
Participating breweries will include Goose Island, 10 Barrel, Blue Point, Breckenridge, Elysian, Shock Top, Alaskan, O’Fallon, Big Muddy, Kona, UCBC, Uinta and Golden Road. The 13 participating breweries will offer a total of 36 different brands. For a $20 admission fee, fans may sample 10 brands and also will receive a souvenir glass. (Additional sample tickets are $2 each.) Bands will play on stage from approximately 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event features Top Alcohol Dragsters and Top Alcohol Funny Cars, reaching speeds in excess of 275 miles per hour on the quarter-mile drag strip. Admission to the drag racing event is $20 per carload — as many people as you can squeeze into your vehicle for only $20.
