May 3, 2018 — Gateway Motorsports Park today released the schedule for its much-anticipated NASCAR K&N Pro Series race on Friday, August 24. Race day will include two sessions of practice, qualifying and the 160-lap Midwest Melee 200 presented by the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame.

This will mark the first time the NASCAR K&N Pro Series will compete on a track larger than one mile in length and – based on recent practice times — the K&N Pro Series cars are expected to run speeds equal to those of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Gateway. The St. Louis-area event is a combination race for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and K&N Pro Series West and drivers will have a unique opportunity to earn $10,000 in bonus money from the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame.

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series event will cap the festivities of the second annual Coors Light Pole Night for the Verizon IndyCar Series Bommarito Automotive Group 500 presented by Axalta and Valvoline. Fans will enjoy a full day of on-track activity, including qualifying for INDYCAR, Pro Mazda Championship Presented By Cooper Tires, Indy Lights Presented By Cooper Tires and the Vintage Indy Registry Open Wheel Icons.
