Gateway Motorsports Park is pleased to announce a new addition to its announcing team. Local radio personality Rik Anthony will begin announcing at the Dragplex on July 22.

Anthony has been on the air for more than 20 years in the St. Louis radio market, including: K-Hits 96 (1996-2002), KSD-FM (2002-2006) and WIL-FM 92 (since 2006). He also was the syndicated radio host of the drag racing radio program Back in the Pits with Rik Anthony from 2003-2009 on the All Star Radio networks and on the internet.

“As the number of events at GMP’s Dragplex, Dirtplex, Circuit of St. Louis, superspeedway and party pavilion  continue to expand, we need to fill announcing positions with talented, experienced individuals. Rik is a motorsports enthusiast, comes from “personality radio” and brings more than 20 years of experience to our announcers’ booth. We are looking forward to his arrival at GMP,” said Media & Promotions Manager John Bisci.

Anthony’s broadcast career began as an announcer for the Armed Forces Radio Network in 1979. Anthony retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1998.
