The NHRA-sanctioned Dragplex at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Illinois, managed to complete one of its two weekend bracket races before rain arrived on Saturday morning.
July 1: Friday’s final-round bracket racing series winners included: Jason Phillips of Granite City, Illinois (Super Pro), Rich Komor of Litchfield, Illinois (Pro), Ron Beach of Troy, Illinois (Sportsman) and Charles Willis Jr. of Collinsville, Illinois (Super Pro Motorcycle).
July 2: On Saturday morning, the track was ready and Jr. Dragsters had been called to the staging lanes. The rain began soon after (and much earlier than forecasted) and the event was postponed. Fans and racers are asked to retain their ticket stubs, tech cards and wristbands — they will be honored at the next bracket racing series event.
