Illinois Army National Guard Midnight Madness is hopping in the way-back machine and cranking the volume to 11 on Friday, September 20. In addition to the street legal drag racing and drifting, there’s also even more show for your dough for Flashback Friday – 80′s Night.
Darin Myhre is putting together a very special version of Battle of the Boards with “8 from the 80′s.” The 8 quickest/fastest cars from the 80′s in a shootout to end all shootouts.
The main stage gets invaded by Johnny Rock-Itt and the Double-Wide Symphony. It’s a full-blown rock show that will help you understand why your parents are the way they are.
There’s going to be even more automotive mayhem with specialty features that will be announced in the days ahead. Plus, we’re getting reports that a ‘mystery celebrity’ from the 80′s will be on hand for photos (and maybe even a handshake).
LATEST NEWS: THE ROLLER DERBY GIRLS ARE COMING!
Plus, we’re getting ready to release our ‘special contest’ consultant from his padded cell to see what he’s dreamed up this time. (The Beer Belly contest at the last Madness forced him into therapy…he couldn’t take the “Demolition’ that occurred that night). We’re forcing him to watch Rambo, Back-to-the-Future, Porky’s and Ferris Bueller …and he’s listening to Madonna and Debbie Gibson for inspiration. (We told him ‘NO’ on Top Gun because that volleyball scene might remind him of the beer belly contest from our last Madness).
We’re also happy to report that our friends from the Illinois Army National Guard have lots of great activities for this event. They will have their football toss (since it is football season), the massive climbing wall and the NASCAR tire changing competition.
Keep an eye on Facebook and Twitter to see what’s next at Illinois National Guard at Midnight Madness.
This is the next-to-last Madness of 2013 and we want to make it one you will alway remember.
