NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series fans will have the opportunity to meet the NHRA’s most popular living legend — 16-time Funny Car champion John Force — at a free fanfest and driver autograph session on Thursday at Ballpark Village in downtown St. Louis. The fanfest will kick off the weekend’s AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park.

Force rocketed his PEAK Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car to victory at Charlotte, North Carolina last Sunday — scoring his 146th career win which moved him up to third place in Countdown to the Championship standings.

Force joins NHRA stars Del Worsham, Leah Pritchett, Matt Hagan, Allen Johnson, Kebin Kinsley, Clay Millican, Tim Wilkerson, John Hale, Cory Reed, Matt and Angie Smith, Hector Arana Sr., Terry McMillen Hector Arana Jr., Melissa Surber, Jerry Savoie and Alex Laughlin.

Many race cars will be on display at the fanfest, including Kebin Kinsley’s Road Rage Fuel Booster Top Fuel Dragster, Tony Schumacher’s U.S. Army Top Fuel Dragster and legendary monster truck Bigfoot.

The NHRA fanfest will run from 6-7:30 p.m. and will include prize drawings and musical entertainment by Midwestern rockabilly/honkytonk rockers, the Rat Rod Kings (www.RatRodKings.com).

Ballpark Village is located next to Busch Stadium in downtown St. Louis and is just five minutes away from GMP’s Dragplex.
